Challenge
The challenge of this app project lies in creating a seamless platform where users can comfortably engage with mentors and experts on a wide array of topics. Addressing the diverse needs and preferences of both users and mentors requires careful consideration of user experience, privacy, and security. Balancing the need for accessibility with the importance of maintaining a high-quality experience presents an ongoing challenge. Additionally, ensuring the scalability of the platform to accommodate a growing user base while maintaining the personal touch of one-on-one interactions poses a significant technical hurdle. Ultimately, the challenge is to craft an intuitive, reliable, and dynamic space where knowledge exchange flourishes, empowering users to seek guidance and expertise with ease.

01 Low-Fidelity Prototyping with Figma
During the process of creating this app, once I had a design-system created and had all my colours chosen, I started with creating the low-fidelity prototype of the app. Although, the low-fidelity prototype was created in grey scale, I knew what colours I was going to use when it came to creating the high-fidelity prototype. I was able to illustrate the key functions of each feature through wireframes, ensuring clarity and coherence in the design process.

02 Mid-Fidelity Prototyping with Figma
Once my low-fidelity prototypes were created and approved by my tutor, I moved on to creating the mid-fidelity prototype of my app. This was still in grey scale. However, the difference between the mid-fidelity prototype and low-fidelity prototype is that the mid-fidelity prototype is that I now replaced the placeholder texter with real text and the placeholder images were replaced with images that I was planning on using in the app.
03 High-Fidelity Prototyping with Figma
In the process of developing the app, I transitioned from low to mid-fidelity wireframes before finally arriving at high-fidelity prototypes using Figma. Unlike the earlier wireframes, the high-fidelity prototypes were developed using a comprehensive design system, resulting in a more polished and advanced appearance akin to a real app. This complex design system allowed for meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience throughout the app. From refined typography to intricate interface elements, the high-fidelity prototypes represent a significant step forward in the development of the app, bringing it closer to its final form.

04 Usability Testing
In the Usability Testing phase, we focused on assessing the user experience of our app's key features. Our primary goal was to identify any potential difficulties users might encounter in later stages. Through rigorous testing, we aimed to ensure that the app seamlessly connects users with experts across various fields. This phase allowed us to gather invaluable feedback, which we used to refine the app's interface and functionality, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience.
05 Refining the design for Hand-off
In the Design Handoff phase of this project, I was pleased to present the refined design package for the "Speak Specialist" app. Having meticulously refined the low, mid, and high fidelity wireframes, the design was ready for handoff. Every aspect of the app's interface was carefully considered to ensure a seamless user experience. With all design assets, including UI mockups, style guides, and interactive prototypes, prepared for handoff, the development team was well-equipped to bring this innovative communication platform to life.
